UCAT ANZ extra time and access arrangements
Can you get extra time in the UCAT ANZ?
Yes, if you already receive exam adjustments at school, college or university for a special educational need, disability or medical condition. You apply for the arrangement that matches what you already receive, and you must be approved before your test is booked.
What versions of the test are there?

What other arrangements can be made?
- Medical items at your workstation that are not on the standard comfort aid list.
- Medically necessary food or drink, including water, at your workstation.
- An adjustable font size and colour scheme.
- Wheelchair access.
- A small group room, if you sit school or university exams in a small group.
- A separate room, if you sit school or university exams in a room on your own.
Separate and small group rooms depend on what each test centre has available. A separate room is not soundproofed and may be near a busy area.
Some items need no application at all. Certain medicines, medical devices and mobility aids are allowed into the test room after a visual check. The official site publishes the list.
What evidence do you need?
You need both of these.

If you are not currently enrolled, or your diagnosis is recent and your school has not yet put adjustments in place, the official page sets out what to provide instead.
How do you apply?
- Step 1. Create a Pearson account, or use the one you already have. You need your UCAT ANZ ID number.
- Step 2. Complete the application form on the official website and upload both documents.
- Step 3. Wait for the outcome by email, in about 5 business days.
- Step 4. Your test is then booked for you. You cannot book a test with access arrangements yourself.
Send one application only. Submitting more than one can slow it down.
Should you book a test first?
No. Do not book a standard test before you have your outcome. A standard booking cannot be extended to add extra time or rest breaks. If you are approved, any existing booking is cancelled and refunded and a new one is made, and the date and time will probably change.
If you have already booked, you can still apply before the deadline.
When do applications open and close?
These were the dates for the 2026 test. The 2027 dates were not published when this page was last checked. We will update this page when they are.

No application is accepted after the late deadline.
What will not be approved?
- Extra time because of handwriting difficulties. The test is multiple choice on a computer and involves no writing.
- Extra time because English is not your first language.
The arrangements your school gives you, or that your practitioner recommends, will not necessarily be the ones approved. An approval covers one year's test only.
