Which universities use the UCAT ANZ?
Sixteen universities in Australia and two in New Zealand use the UCAT ANZ for entry to medicine, dentistry or clinical science courses. The list below is the one published for the 2026 test, for courses starting in 2027. We will update this page when the list for the 2027 test is published.

Do all medicine courses need the UCAT ANZ?
No. Some pathways into medicine, dentistry and clinical sciences do not require it, and some applicants need a different test.
Check the entry requirements on each university's own website before you book.
Are there any exemptions?
No. The test's owners state that there are no general exemptions. If a course on the list requires the UCAT ANZ, every applicant to that course sits it.
Who can sit the UCAT ANZ?
The test is open to candidates who are in, or have completed, the final year of secondary school, or a higher level of study. The official eligibility page sets out the detail.
How do universities get your results?
You do not send them. The UCAT ANZ Office sends every candidate's results directly to the universities in early September. You quote your UCAT ANZ ID number in your university applications.
Can you reuse a result the following year?
No. A result counts for one admissions cycle only. A 2026 result can be used for courses starting in 2027 and not after. If you apply again the next year, you sit the test again.
You may sit the test once in a year.
How does each university use the score?
Each university decides for itself. Most use the score alongside school results, and many add an interview. How much weight each part carries, and the score needed, differ between universities and change from year to year.
This page does not list entry scores, because any figure would be out of date within a year. Each university publishes how it uses the UCAT ANZ on its own admissions pages.
Can a UCAT ANZ result be used in the UK?
Yes. A UCAT ANZ result can be used to apply to UK universities, through a form on the UK test's website. You may not sit both the UCAT ANZ and the UK test in the same year. Universities in Australia and New Zealand accept UCAT ANZ results only.
